Our Story
At AA Communications, we believe in making meaningful connections and building communities through consistent conversations and captivating and creative storytelling.
An award-winning, enthusiastic communicator passionate about integrating social media strategy and storytelling, Abby Kittrell loves helping businesses connect with their customers through social media, creating conversations and building relationships.
It all began when she was in college at Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and was assigned to help local Blacksburg businesses with their social media and marketing. After graduation, she developed and implemented the social media strategy for Lilly Pulitzer Signature Stores in Hampton Roads, Virginia, which resulted in increased retail and online sales. After great success with Lilly Pulitzer, in September 2012, she went on to found her business, AA Communications.
Over the past 12 years since, she has partnered with nonprofits and companies of all different sizes in a vast number of industries across the country - from private colleges to health systems to manufacturing to economic development to travel and tourism and more.
Abby is passionate about serving the community and continuing to grow as a communicator.
For a decade, she served on the Executive Board of the Richmond Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Abby has also served on the Young Professionals Committee of the Virginia Home for Boys & Girls, as a Social Media Mentor for NPO Launchpad, a Richmond-based nonprofit incubator, as well as the Marketing Chair on the Angels of Mercy Medical Clinic Executive Board and volunteered with Celebrate RVA!, spreading joy through birthday parties.
